Duplicate prizes may be awarded to different age groups at the discretion of the judges and depending upon participation.

 

1.                  Each student may enter one poem (50 line-limit) or one essay  (500-word limit) or one  fiction story (1500 word-limit)or one black and white art work(limit 8x10)  or *Eye-Poem (limit 11x 8 ½ in.) for  each $1 entry fee.  There is no limit to the number of entries as long as fees are paid. Any student who enters five (5) or more poems, prose or art pieces or whose work is selected for publication will receive one free copy of the issue containing his work. Send a SASE for return with art or Eye-Poem only.

2.                  For each entry, one single-spaced copy in plain font of 12-14 points should be sent with only the student’s grade in the top right hand corner.

3.                  For prose send one extra copies that is double-spaced.

4.                  A cover sheet with the title of all entries and the total amount of fees sent should be included.  In addition to his own name, address, telephone number, and e-mail, each student must include grade, name and e-mail  of teacher and name, telephone number of school attending.  Student should also state if he wishes his work to be published regardless of awards, space permitting.

5.                  Teachers who send five (5) or more poems from students will receive a copy of the issue containing prize-winning poems if the teacher sends a cover sheet including her name, address and email information.  Students who are selected for publication will receive a free copy of the publication and may buy extra copies for $5 each.

6.                  Students or teachers who send e-mail addresses will be notified of winners by October 20, 2008. Winner’s lists will be posted on the website and send to those who send a SASE
